This year sees 16 teams enter the T20 style mid-week ‘cricket for all’ competition. Established in 2014, the format is in part dictated by the number of participants and is designed to maximise the number of matches each team plays, whilst also ensuring that travelling distances are kept to a minimum.

The competition takes place during a time of year where the evening light is most conducive to playing evening cricket. A  rules review was conducted to keep the competition fresh using Survey Monkey that meant the whole process was nailed in under a week and will now see fielding restrictions be trialled and all matches using either pink or orange balls. Go to www.ssmcup.co.uk to find out more.
